"Meiko! We can't do this! The nurses!"

"Oh…don't worry about them, the nurses on this ward are on their coffee break and out for a smoke. You'll be FINE! Now shut up and let me put you in this wheelchair I borrowed!"

…and that's how Meiko, Haku and Kaito who was waiting outside her hospital room began cruising down her ward as if nothing was up at all. Haku looked like she was just being discharged and according to Kaito who had spoken to Haku's doctors and they said she would be fine to go soon anyway. But Meiko knew Haku needed to see Dell right there and then. There was no update on his condition and things were sounding grim but Haku had to see him for herself.

And Haku was secretly glad to be leaving her dull hospital room. Day in and day out, doctors and nurses would come in to poke and prod her and check her vitals and what not. Most of it just went in one ear and out the other for her; needless to say, she wasn't interested in being a doctor. She hated the hospital enough already.

They left Haku's ward and went into the elevators and exited out onto a corridor. Their voices echoed off the walls as Kaito began to have second thoughts.

"Meiko, are you SURE we can do this? We could get kicked out if we got caught!"

"Then we won't get caught. Haku needs to see Dell. Maybe in her own way she could help him."

"But the doctor said he―"

"We don't know that. We have to try."

Haku remained silent during this time, biting her lip. Inside her head she was also thinking of what her two friends were saying; wondering what she would find when and if she saw Dell and if she could help him at all.

They turned onto Dell's ward and things were very different. The doctors and nurses were luckily all preoccupied with their patients to notice a man and woman carting another woman in bandages in a wheelchair.  So far things were looking good. Haku got wheeled around a corner and that's when things went downhill.

"Hey, you! What are you doing?!"

A voice came from the side of the ward they had just left and by the sound of their squeaky shoes on the floor, they were coming in fast. There was no time for them to run without the owner of the voice seeing them and stopping them.

"Quick, Haku! Run over my foot with your wheelchair!"

"WHAT?" That was it. Kaito had snapped.

"Just do it!"

"What, no! I'm not going to! Why are you―"

"What are you on about, Kaito?" Meiko joined in,

"Oh, for the love of…!"

Kaito ran up behind Meiko and put his hands on Meiko's breasts and squeezed hard. Meiko
went as red as her shirt and no sooner had his fingers left her groped chest that the mortified brunette shrieked at him and nailed him right in the groin with her high-heeled boot.

Kaito gave a shout of pain and he fell to the ground, groaning. Meiko snapped out of her fury as more voices joined the room and she quickly grabbed Haku's wheelchair and ran, leaving Kaito rolling on the ground. No one payed attention to them as they were too concerned about the strange blue-haired man, clutching his privates.

Meiko was still blushing madly as they turned another corner of the ward, now away from the voices of concerned doctors. The hallway they were in now was long and quiet with no sign of doctors ready to turn them in.

"If I remember right from what Kaito told me, Dell's room is just down here, near the end. The elevators are really close to this room so we can leave easily," Meiko said softly.

Haku gave a quick nod. Her voice was gone and her throat was dry. Words would not come to her mouth. She felt her palms become sweaty and her hands starting shaking. Haku was so scared and nervous she could barely think. She had dreamed of seeing Dell again for days and yet now she was here all she wanted was to go back. Meiko didn't seem to notice her friend's anxiety as she drew closer to Dell's room.

"Here it is! Wheel yourself in, Haku. I'll keep watch out here, okay?"

Haku nodded at her supportive friend and gave a small smile hoping to fool her on how much she was scared at that moment.

Taking a long, deep breath; Haku closed her eyes and wheeled herself in with her good arm.

Ever so slowly, she opened her eyes.

As soon as her eyes were open, they took in the sight before her. In a mostly empty, sad hospital room laid Dell in a hospital bed. He had tubes coming out of his body and bandages and cuts and bruises and casts on almost every part of his body. He had a breathing mask over his mouth and there was a lot of machinery hooked up to him.
Haku gulped and wheeled herself up to the bed and got a better look at him.

His face was puffy and had splodges of green and yellows and purple on him, indicating ripe bruises. His right eye was blocked by a puffy, white patch that went around his bandaged head. Haku's eyes began to fill with tears and she bravely looked at the rest of his body. Everything looked broken, bruised or bandaged and it seemed there wasn't any place she could touch without it hurting him. Heartbroken, Haku turned her eyes back to his face.

His eye that wasn't masked by a bandage was closed and his breath was shallow, faint and slightly wheezy. It looked like it hurt to breathe.  Haku bit her lip and took a deep, shaggy breath.

"Dell…"

She swallowed, and spoke a bit louder,

"Dell…I'm…really sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you. This is all…my fault. I remember you now, Dell I do! I remember everything! We were together for so long…and I really care about you. I don't understand why you wanted me to forget you, Dell because you are probably the greatest thing to ever happened to me and I don't want to lose you again! So just please! Please, wake up, Dell! I lo―"

But her emotional breakdown was interrupted as she heard Meiko's voice surprisingly cheerful and upbeat from outside.

"Oh, DOCTOR! Hello there!!"

Haku lifted her head, wiping tears out of her eyes as she listened to the conversation that was happening right outside of the room. From what she could hear, Meiko was the only one of whom she could hear clearly whilst the other voice was a low, male voice who spoke softly, making it hard for Haku to make out what he was saying, for all she heard was mumbling.

"Doctor, I am SO glad you're here. You see…I uh…have these…uh…uhm…CHEST pains!! Yes, yes! Could you…uhh…help me out?

Haku picked up flustered mumbling noises from the doctor.

"Yes..yes, it just really HURTS and I uh…why don't we sit down uh…over there?

A slight pause before Haku heard more mumbling, now sounding slightly irritated.

"Yes, yes I understand you're a busy doctor and it'll only take a minute; just very QUICKLY, not need to GET OUT of your way or what not,"

Haku frowned at Meiko's odd choice of words before realising that her friend's desperate babbling was trying to say something to Haku. She need to hurry and out before she would be caught.

The silver haired girl smiled at the brunette's clever plan and turned back to Dell.

"Dell…Dell I have to leave now, before I'm caught and Meiko gets in trouble. It's not fair on her to be pulled into this when this is my fault. You don't deserve it either, Dell. So…"

Haku leaned forward as best as she could and placed a small kiss on Dell's pale cheek and pressed her lips to his ear,

"I love you, Honne Dell," she whispered before wheeling herself towards the exit.
Suddenly she was interrupted by a hear tpiercing sound, Dell's heart monitor with its slow, monotone beeping began to fasten its pace as the patient began to stiffly wriggle in his bed. Haku gasped in shock before she was stopped short by a low, threatening voice,

"What's going on here?!" Haku realised the voice belonged to the doctor that Meiko had tried to lure away from Meiko. The guilty brunette was hiding in the doorway behind the enraged man.

He began to stride towards poor Haku before him too, realised that Dell was now moving and his heart beat was rising.

"What on earth do you think you're do―what?"

The doctor paused, losing his trail of speech as all three looked at Dell who was wide awake and weakly smiling straight at Haku.

"Yo…Haku,"
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know.

It's late. HORRIBLY late.

But I had NO IDEA where to go with this chapter and I didn't know how to pace it exactly so it sat on my computer for almost a month and for that I apologise for seeing as my last update was on Valentine's Day. Anyway, I am deeply sorry and I will work harder on new chapters which hopefully won't take as long. Almost finished!
