It was a miracle. Truly a miracle had happened. Haku had willingly woken up earlier then Neru. Picking herself up off the side of the couch and avoiding waking her sleeping friend who had inhabited the other side, Haku walked towards the kitchen for something to eat. Her empty stomach pleaded for food but Haku did what she always did when she was in a dumpy mood and Neru wasn't around (or conscious); look for sake. But Haku forgot that her usual stash was gone on account of Neru's new ban on no sake in the house. Sighing dramatically, Haku left the kitchen and went to find her "secret stash". Her secret stash spot changes regularly because of Neru's ban and in this case it was under Haku's bed. You would think that this would be a really obvious spot to put her sake but Haku knew that Neru barely ever went into her room because of the general mess that she would find there. Who knows what horrors laid under that mattress?
No horrors at all, Haku thought smugly as she pulled up her mattress, just my glorious collection of―
Gone. Neru had found her secret stash and had gotten rid of it.
Haku put her mattress down with a strangled sigh and stomped back to the kitchen to get something to shut her rumbling stomach up. Little did she know that laying on the couch her seemingly asleep blonde companion had a small triumphant smile spread across her face.
---
After a light breakfast, Haku sat at the table with Neru. The blonde watched Haku's blank face with concern as she calmly sipped on her morning coffee. Last night she had been shaken by the events of the bar but now she just seemed to be seemingly emotionless again despite her little drama over the sake just before. For the millioneth time, Neru could only wish for her friend's happiness. But her happiness was currently trying to walk out of her life forever. She gripped her coffee mug in anguish. Such dark times were now overhead when things had just started to get better for her friends. Except her at least; Neru's life seemed to have permanently stopped and refused to her getting over her past. The mobile-crazed blonde shook her head, making her ponytail swing, almost hitting Haku in the face with it. Now was not the time to be thinking about herself and her problems. What was important right now is that she needed to take care of Haku.
Neru lifted her eyes from her mug and dared to look at the silver-haired girl herself when she came by a surprise. Haku was almost smiling.
Neru didn't know that she was not the only one thinking furiously. Haku had been going over the events of the past week or so and realised she needed to pick herself up again. Time and time again she would fall down, loose her footing and make her friends suffer for it. Everytime she fell, her friends fell just as hard. Haku had had it. She was determined to set things right by finally getting over all her worries and living a life again surrounded by her friends; happy and safe. It had been a while since she had felt either of them. Haku slowly let a smile creep onto her face as she felt a little flame of determination burn inside of her.
Feeling Neru's golden eyes on her she looked up and met her gaze, smiling all the while. Startled, Neru blinked a couple of times before relaxing and returning her grin.

"….Hello?"
"Hey, Meiko. It's me, Haku."
"I just rang to tell you to thank you for all you've done and that I think I'm ready to set my life back on track. I want to come back into work today and live a life again."
"Oh Haku! That sounds wonderful! I'm so glad that you're picking yourself up so soon after last night. I was actually going to slip out of the bar and come see you but I guess I won't need to do that if you're coming over! I'll be ready when you are, Haku."
"Thanks, Meiko. You're a true friend. I'll be over there soon."
"That sounds great. And Haku..?"
"Yes?"
"I'm really proud of you."
"…thanks."
Haku hung up the phone to her brunette friend and turned to find Neru standing directly behind her. As their eyes met, Haku saw Neru's shine as she exchanged a small, appreciative smile at her grey-glad friend and Haku felt her heart warm. Neru wasn't the type of girl who expressed her feelings very much but Haku could tell that she was also proud of her. And that gave Haku that extra bit of courage to move on.
As she served orders from the kitchen to the hungry customers, Haku tried to smile more and more, giving friendly conversation to them when she could and thanking them for tips with she tucked in the front pocket of her apron. With each happy grin that she saw on the people's faces, the happier Haku became. She was fragile and still a bit weary but she was happy.
And until she could see Dell again, she needed all the happiness she could grasp.

Fear of Regret
Gakupo groaned as he finished his dinner. He'd been looking forward to having a long, well-deserved rest since he'd been working on the new song for his CD but he'd just remembered he had been asked to come up with a new single for the fans.
Sighing he opened up the new dishwasher and put his plate in one of the neat white wired slots. His was going to be the first plate washed, which, he figured, was something to be happy about.
The house was weirdly quiet. It was normal to hear the whirring of mechanical tools drifting up from the basement-lab where the Master worked but there was only silence. Gakupo figured that either she had fallen as

Gakupo POV:
I jumped from one branch to another. My tummy felt quite full after I stole a delicious tuna from the foolish human, and now my eyes were getting heavy. I tried to find a comfortable place to nap.
Ring~ ring~
My black-furred ears perked up when I heard that beautiful sound. My eyes examined the area around me. The sound… it seems like a bell sound.
Ring~
I gazed upward.

Finally re-did this chapter as it dissapeared and I had to re-write this but even if I could remember what I had written the first time, I like this better.

I was beginning to wonder if they had beds or bedrooms, they kept sleeping on the couch.
Glad Haku is picking her self up & trying to be happy.
